Count Down to SUMMER

Just ONE WEEK LEFT for us!

Yipee! Yahoo!

I have to nail down a summer schedule and get my summer-home-school system set!
Beach day every Thursday (and more)
Pool Day (every other available day)
Library Day
Bake Day on Fridays
Chore Day (did I just say that?)
Play, Play, Play!

We are going to Nauvoo July 17-27
and staying in Kansas City and Quincy part of the time.
I've never been to that park of this great country of ours. If anybody has any tips or suggestions, we're all ears!

What are YOUR plans??

Your summer schedule sounds like ours -except for the beach! Hope to
do that in August -I'll let ya know. We went to the Library yesterday & it was SO picked over &
shelves practically empty (everyone
has the same idea -bring ALL the
kids each week!)we came home with
only 2 books for bubba!

I have a trip suggestion...Orem, Utah! haha...just kidding, that wouldn't be too fun. But if you happen to be passing through Utah, give me a call!

Shoot...we'll miss you in Nauvoo by just a week. You can always swing up our way- 5 hours north of Nauvoo! :) We'll show you a good time.

Anna isn't kidding. She has the SPAM muesum! Honestly -

Sounds like a great time planned! We have one week and one day left. Seriously so lame. We had Friday off last week but go to school next Monday?

Enjoy your last week!

Sounds great! I also love summer with the kids out!!
We went to Navoo about 12 years ago, right before law school started. It was great!
Only advice -- wear a ponytail and no make-up -- very humid! It's wonderful!! Take extra pictures of the Herber C. Kimball home for me! Love the popcorn poppers!

I'm just a little jeolous of the beach day!!
You are going to love Nauvoo! Are you going with your whole family? We stayed in the Nauvoo Family Hotel with a pool and the kids loved it. The pageant is well worth it as well. Nauvoo is such a neat place-I can't wait to see your pictures and hear all about it.

How fun. We're missing the structure here. I need to figure something out cause my kids are bored and cranky! No beach, no pool. We can do bike rides though it may be a smidge hot. Back to the drawing board.

You'll love Nauvoo. If you go to my blog, the photo of me and the kids on a shoreline was taken in Nauvoo at the end of Parly St. That's a moving walk...to think of the pioneers leaving the temple and homes behind, crossing the Mississippi, and heading to the unknown.
Before you go, if you haven't read it already, you may want to pick up a copy of The History of Joseph Smith by his mother. I read the one "revised" by Scot & Maurine Proctor; they added their photos. You'd LOVE it.
Yes, it will be humid. I hope it's not too bad for you though.
Oh, and my other favorite photos from Nauvoo were taken on the hill across the street from the temple. We let the little kids run on the grass and roll down the hill.... and we have some more "reverent" photos too with the beautiful temple in the background. :)
Have a wonderful trip!
