The Kidlets

Randomness:
Ashlyn received yet another award in school. This time it was at the same time as her BFF Cooper.

One morning before school, Ashlyn set up an elaborate tea party for us. She wanted me to put on my ball gown too. Like I have a ball gown.

Ashlyn and Christian share a room. The past few nights they've gotten in a habit of sleeping together. I remember when Brooke did that with Madison. I'll put them to bed, then go back and check on them and Ashlyn will have crawled into bed with Christian. Usually she's way over on the side against the wall. This time it kind of freaked me out because her bed was empty (always a little shocker when you expect to see their cute little sleeping faces and they're gone!) and it took me a while to actually find her. Can you see her?
I went downstairs to get my camera and to tell John about it. Even expecting it, he couldn't find her at first. Freaky!
And yes, I moved her back to her bed.

A few January happenings . . .

John got me (among other things) some bread pans for Christmas --mine were getting rusty and gross. He found a cool rectangle that makes really great sandwich bread. Here's a comparison:

Ashlyn was the Student of the Week; thus the making of the requisite poster (and notice the newly missing teeth!):

On her poster said she has 37 cousins and here's the newest!!!!
Darling little Easton Clark Bergmann born on January 14th.

The winter weather has been super duper gorgeous. On MLK day we went for a hike;
the other day I found a cool bench on our water tower hill with a great view:
Then since there was no school (YAY!), we got to all go and meet baby Easton.

Spring has sprung in the dead of winter. Except we don't get dead here.
Walking to school on a beautiful morning.

Crazy hair day:
A "bunhawk"

Make that two bunhawks and a mohawk:

Conference was last weekend and it went well. I didn't collapse or stutter or spit or slur. A collective ~~sigh~~.

I'm just about finished with my project that I'm making for our Stake Presidency. Here's a screen shot sampling:

To go along with last year's Primary theme of I Know the Scriptures are True, we challenged the kids in the Stake to read their scriptures and tell us what they've learned. We collected, over a period of several months last year, many quotes from the kids along with darling illustrations. I captured them all in an iPhoto album and added pictures from activities we've done over the past three years. It's pretty certain that we'll be released sooner than later so I wanted to get this done before that happens. I think it's going to look great!

I'll Get There

Brooke keeps asking me if I've updated my Blog. No, not yet. I need to load all the pictures from John's camera and my camera that I've taken. Christmas was wonderful. Christmas break was wonderful. 2012 is going to be a great year, but I've been busy, too busy, but I will catch up.
This month: Faith in God fireside, School board meeting, PFA board meetings, Primary board meetings, Track board meeting, Track registration (we're in charge, well John is), Madison's basketball games, Christian's TKD, Christian's birthday and planning his party (STAR WARS THEME . . . Any ideas out there?????), planning his baptism, book club, recipe club, craft club, lots of work for Xirrus (= late nights), Girl Scouts Cookie Chair, schlepping the kids around, and the worst that's taking my brain capacity is a talk in Stake Conference. Why me???? I've already spoken in Stake Conference before, therefore I should get a free pass for the rest of my life. This being the second time should give me a free pass for all eternity. I. do. not. like. public. speaking.
At about 9:00 next Saturday night, I'll feel much better. And hopefully be alive to blog again if I don't die right there on the stand.
