Sleep Walking

In recent weeks, Brooke has started doing strange things at night with no recollection in the morning.  At first I thought it might be night terrors (because she shakes and shivers), now I'm leaning towards sleep walking.  Maybe a combination of the two.  Some nights have been down right hilarious, putting me into extreme fits of the giggles (I wish I got a picture of what she put on in her sleep!).  However, we are a little nervous that she can actually walk outside or something equally dangerous.
After another episode last night, where she came downstairs and wandered into the dark bathroom (even though we were in the family room with the lights and tv on), we got out the annoying baby gate and installed it at the top of the stairs.  Even though she knows how to do the gate, I'll at least be able to hear it in case she ventures downstairs while I'm asleep.
Has anyone dealt with this before?  Any advice?  It's kind of scary!

Remember Steve used to get up in the middle of the night and pee in the trash can? Haha.. sorry that was no help.... I've had friends whose kids did this and it seemed to just come and go? very scary! (I know, still...no help)

Jeremy had night terrors, and trust me, they were nothing like this. He would simply start screaming from a dead sleep. No reasoning would ever console him. I even got him dressed in the middle of the night and walked him all around the neighborhood, showing him how quiet and safe everything was. He was calm until he got back into his own bed and I left the room. Five minutes later the screaming started up again. This went on for about nine months. Then it ended as abruptly as it had started. It lasted about 4-5 hours a night, nearly every night. He was 9 or 10.

Mikal still does that when he is under alot of stress, school, sports or family junk, We have had some fun converstions with him and he has no memory. We always try and wake him or just shoo him back to bed, he did try to use the kitchen as a bathroom I am glad I was listen for him.hahah

Chandler walks in his sleep at times. Usually when he is upset when he goes to bed - the scariest time was when J was out of town and my alarm went off - I walked to the top of the stairs and his bedroom door was open. This was his first episode so I freaked out - he was in the garage walking around - totally out of it.
I don't have any solid advice - but the baby gate seems like a great step.
