Big Day for Pre-K

Ashlyn was beyond excited for her graduation. She had her dress picked out and hung on display days beforehand. On the morning of, she was completely dressed with tights, shoes and even necklace by 7:30a.m. Unfortunately, she had swim lessons at 10:00 and school doesn't even start until noon. Minor glitch.

She arrived and met up with her bff Caroline who happened to be practically matching. That's what bff's end up doing.

The procession walking in . . .

The program consisted of singing all the songs they learned throughout the year. Ashlyn introduced the song "You are My Sunshine"
And led the class in the actions . . .

"Thank You!"

She also had a solo in the song "I Like Me" where she sang:
I like my heart
It's my very finest part
It's the part that shares
It's the part that cares
So I like my heart!

After hugging the teacher, the children 'cross the bridge' and say the name of the school they'll be attending. "Maple Elementary!"

First day of school
Last day of school

She loved that little had and wore it all day long. She loved her beautiful dress and wanted to be the graduation princess all day long. This picture is taken during Christian's swimming lesson late in the afternoon.

Saturday night I took Christian to his Dodger Team party where they swam, ate, and celebrated like 7/8 year old boys.

Our Last Preschooler

Ashlyn has been going to the Dos Vientos preschool since birth - that is she was born while Brooke was in this preschool and has gone with me to take Brooke for her first year of life, then her brother for the next two years. Now it is finally her turn. Every time we'd drive by the school she'd exclaim, "There's Christian's school!" Until last week. We drove by and she corrected herself, "There's my school!" (in full ear-piercing volume).
The day has finally come and it is now her turn. She waited patiently while her siblings started school last week and was very excited to get out her lunchbox to actually use it. She even got out a backpack for all her "homework" . . . if only the excitement of homework would last!

We had to take the traditional pictures before school in the front yard. Christian is also very excited to be able to take her to school, too.

My little baby looks like a school girl. I think I made a mistake and blinked!

"I have my ladybug lunchbox and I'm ready to go!"

Ashlyn and her cousin Chelsea were so excited to see each other in class!
I'm amazed at how identical their hair color looks here. Such cute little blondies.
Christian passed the torch over to his little sister - this is her room now, her school, her teachers, no longer his.

"Wow Chel Chel! Look at all the fun stuff we get to do together!"

Another day . . . another fun time at school with Chel Chel.
