Yesterday we met author Brandon Mull at our school assembly. He put on a great show for the kids encouraging them to read, use their imagination, and write.
Later, at Borders, he was doing a book-signing to promote his new book Fablehaven: Grip of the Shadow Plague. We went to pick up a copy of the book, but did not stay for the signing as the lines went clear to midnight!!!! I gave my book to my friend who was going to stick it out. Luckily we were able to talk with him at length at the school, and have him sign our other books. It was a good experience for Madison and Brooke to see the excitement of a new book and the "book-signing" process - and be amazed at the die-hard fans. It was a school night and elementary-aged kids were there so late . . . unbelievable!

Two of my littles have read these books and loved them. When Tyler and Spencer were really young we had a book signing by the guy that took over writing the Curious George books. For ME it wasn't the same - but for the boys - they thought he was the origial author and were over the top excited. I love that he wrote something in the book personal to them about being curious about life and adventures.
FUN!
Remember having this 'kid' in our home many times and always seemed to have a great imagination. Best of luck to you Brandon! Will have to borrow your books, Marrianne when I get back.
I just read the 2nd one last month, it was good. How cool to have a school assembly with him, is he from there? If you menrioned it before I forgot...adult add...:)
