PRK Update

I'm seeing double . . .
My doctor said my vision will get worse before it gets better.
He was right.
Friday was OK, and the pain was like an annoying contact lens.
Tried to keep my eyes shut when possible to aid in healing.
At my post-op in the morning, the doctor said that things didn't look good
. . . they looked great.
That's the kind of news you want to hear from a doctor.
Then Friday afternoon hit.
Have your eyes ever burned from chopping an onion?
Try chopping 100 onions, then rubbing your eyes with onion juice on your fingers:
OUCH!!!!!!
The onion feeling lasted throughout the evening.
I resorted to Tylenol with codeine and numbing drops.
Then a sleeping pill.
(all recommended by the doctor, by the way)
Tape on those lovely fly-ish eye shields
and I'm out.
Whew!
Saturday morning brings somewhat blurred vision and some pain, but not nearly as bad as the night before. I think I'll have some pain med to get me through the day . . .
Of course a Saturday night would not be complete without heading
to Albertsons! I attempt driving. All the lights not only have that "halo", but actually look like starbursts with perfect spider webs surrounding them. Interesting.
Sunday is much better.
Very little discomfort, still blurred vision, but seeing a bit better.
Went to church -
Oh and I might add that I'm not able to wear a bit of eye make-up.
So, I'm going for the au-natural look.
Who knows, I may start a new trend.
It really does make getting ready for the day easier,
And, attending my friend's wedding yesterday was refreshing
to not have raccoon eyes while bawling through the ceremony!
Let's hope that each day is noticeably better. I go back to the doctor on Tuesday to have my contact lens bandages removed.

oh my honus! I wonder what kind of
surgery I would be a candidate for?
What a Christmas present -the gift
of seeing!haha
Anything to do with my eyes or teeth really freaks me out. I am blind, but I also don't have any
fillings yet! So glad you are doing
well. Lucky you. ciao

Yikes! So glad I don't have glasses or contacts (...yet!). Anything with the eye scares me.

Honestly - I would be the fraction of the 1% that is worse than before! Kudos to you for doing this. You are more brave than I!
Hope you are feeling better soon!
