Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! We had fun making a bunny cake (pineapple carrot cake) for Ashlyn's first birthday. She has never had sweets before and didn't know what to think of it at first. She even burst into tears when we gave her a piece and tried to get her to eat it. She eventually came around, but never did make a big mess.
She's such a doll baby and took 5 steps today. Pretty soon she'll be running all over the place. It's sad, but at the same time it will be nice to get her up off the floor. Now that the weather is warmer and gorgeous, her favorite thing is to be outside. All her pants are ruined from her crawling around outside, but it is worth it to see her joy in discovering this new part of life.

Cute cake! Our boys had never had sugar before and so it was always hard for me to introduce them to birthday cake! I suppose I could have done something different for the babe - but never thought about it. Time passes too quickly! Before you know it - she will be driving and dating!
