Last week was a great week with the new piano (which was really a miracle), but this week is something else! It started of with losing my wedding rings. I've had them for 14 years and I have to say that I did not lose them, however I may have unknowingly thrown them away (long story). It is very sad and I miss them. Many people often "upgrade" their ring as soon as they come into more money, or with the change of fashion. I guess I'm sentimental and was planning on keeping mine forever since they were a loving gift from my betrothed. John feels really badly as they were in his care at the time. I'm really not in the frame of mind to choose a new wedding ring (plus the budget is set for a new bathroom and computer!), so I just might wait for Anniversary #15.
If that's not bad enough, the next morning I was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma. SKIN CANCER!! I am scheduled for surgery in April and am paying my dues for all the time I spent baking in the sun.
I am counting my blessings, though and am grateful for the health of both my family and my marriage. Too many people don't have either and I consider myself very fortunate. I'm still hoping for another miracle and for my wedding rings to show up. Maybe the garbage collector will deliver them next week. Now that would be miraculous.

OH MY HONUS!!! What??? I am so sad for you about your rings! Right now I am just sick about 'losing' James' cubscout book!haha
Hopefully I'll find it in a box!
I seriously get sick over those things!!
BUT I am way sad about your skin cancer. I think I should be next, or Lisa! We have it in the family and tanned too much! What are they going to do?? email me! I can't email out yet. What a week you have had!! I feel for ya! Can't wait to talk :) -ciao
The doctor is going to perform the Mohs Procedure in which he takes a small layer of tissue, maps it, and microscopically analyzes it while I wait. From there, he will be able to determine which direction the cancer is growing and continue taking small amounts of tissue, analyzing, until no more cancer is found. Then I will be stitched up and look a bit like Frankenstein for a while while it heals. It's right on my face and when it's a cosmetically important area such as this, the Mohs procedure is always used. It is supposed to be very successful, and leaves minimal amounts of scarring.
So my advice to everyone: go to the dermatologist! The little "bump" I had didn't look funky at all and didn't fit any of the normal descriptions for abnormal moles.
Wow! With my luck I will get skin cancer and all my laying out didn't get me very tan (darn Irish heritage)!!! I hope you have a successful surgery! You will be goooorgeous no matter what!!! Your little boy is cute!
Honestly, I feel your pain. I had a great scare with precancer - but I would totally freak with this. Sounds like you have a good dr! I honestly think we were just young and stupid! We never wore sunscreen! What was that? Please keep us posted and you are added to my thoughts and prayers!
Your little boy is just darling! I loved his comment about you being gorgeous! You are! Inside and out! And, do you ever age? Geesh!
oh! Jason lost his wedding ring in the Atlantic ocean while surfing many, many years ago. Although it wasn't as lovely as a girls wedding ring - it was the meaning behind the ring. That is rough! Pray for a miracle. They do happen!
Young and stupid - yes - laying out on the roof with Crisco! :-)
I think this will be OK - I'm not too worried. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers.
And we still are holding out for a miracle on that ring!
